What the DSC controls
Wheel-by-wheel brake application for ABS, traction control (DTC), and stability control (DSC). The DSC reads wheel speeds from each hub, the steering angle from the SAS, yaw rate from the yaw sensor, and lateral G from the IMU. It applies individual brakes to correct understeer, oversteer, and wheel slip.
Target address
0x29 (41 decimal) on KWP2000 over K+DCAN. On F/G-series with UDS, the same address at the UDS service layer.
Steering-angle sensor
The SAS sits behind the steering wheel and reports wheel position. DSC uses the SAS to know what the driver is asking for. After alignment, suspension work, or a battery disconnect, the SAS can drift out of calibration; the symptom is DSC intervention that doesn’t match the driver’s input.
Calibration procedure
Centre the steering wheel, run the SAS calibration routine targeting the DSC module. The DSC clears its zero-point and stores the new reference. Routine ID is currently unverified per the project audit; cross-check against ISTA on a non-critical car first.
