Where each counter lives
Engine oil: DME. Brake pads front/rear: KOMBI (E-series) or BDC (F/G-series). Brake fluid: KOMBI (E-series) or BDC (F/G-series). Cabin filter: IBO (F-series) or BDC (G-series). Spark plugs: IBO (F-series) or BDC (G-series). Vehicle check: IBO (F-series) or BDC (G-series).
Why it’s not a single counter
Each module tracks the service it’s responsible for. The DME knows the engine-oil state because the DME runs the engine. The KOMBI knows the brake-pad state because the KOMBI displays the service reminder. A CBS reset on the wrong module is a no-op.
How to reset a CBS counter
Use Beemuu’s Service Functions tab. The project ships the right module address for each counter; you run the routine and the counter resets.
Why you reset after the service, not before
Resetting a CBS counter without performing the service lies to the car about its own maintenance state. The next time the counter triggers, the service will be overdue; the warning will appear sooner; the car will mislead its owner. Always reset after the service is done.
