What the KOMBI controls
The driver-facing displays: speed, RPM, fuel level, engine temperature, oil temperature, gear indicator, CBS service reminders, odometer, trip meter, and warning lights. The KOMBI is also a CBS-counter holder for brake pads and brake fluid.
Target address
0x60 (96 decimal) on KWP2000 over K+DCAN. On F/G-series with UDS, the same address at the UDS service layer.
CBS counters on the KOMBI
Brake pad front, brake pad rear, brake fluid. These counters are separate from the engine-oil counter (which is on the DME) and the cabin-filter / spark-plug counters (which are on the IBO/BDC). Each module holds its own CBS state.
Reading the KOMBI
Mileage, fuel level, oil temperature, brake-pad life percentage, brake-fluid life percentage, current CBS state, fault memory (display faults, communication faults).
KOMBI vs BDC on F/G-series
On later F/G-series, the IBO/BDC takes over some of the CBS-counter role. The KOMBI still displays the service reminders, but the counters live elsewhere. Beemuu’s engine profiles document which module holds which CBS counter for each chassis.
