What the BDC controls
Body electronics, light control, climate, the body-domain CBS counters (cabin filter, spark plugs, vehicle check), and on later chassis the battery-registration state. The BDC is the convergence point for body-domain functions.

Battery registration on the BDC
On later F/G-series, the battery-registration routine runs on the BDC rather than the DME. The IBS (intelligent battery sensor) reports to the BDC, which then manages the battery-age model and the charging profile.
CBS counters on the BDC
Cabin filter, spark plugs, vehicle check. On F-series LCI, the BDC took these over from the IBO.
Beemuu support
Beemuu’s G-series profiles include the BDC as a probe target. Battery registration on later F/G-series targets the BDC; on earlier F-series it targets the DME.
